On September 17, the TwIN Govtech awards ceremony was held at CEIN in Noain. This open innovation program connects the technology and creativity of the entrepreneurial ecosystem with the needs of the public sector. Together with the Pamplona City Council and companies from the Navarre ecosystem, eight major urban challenges were defined which, after a selection process, are now being transformed into real pilot projects based on digital twins.

Among them, the proposal submitted by Tesicnor and the Institute of Biodiversity and Environment (BIOMA) of the University of Navarra was chosen as the pilot in the Integrated Environmental Management challenge. This challenge raised a key question: how can we comprehensively manage the environmental cycle to anticipate climate risks, improve urban conditions, and protect citizens’ health?

Our joint proposal was recognized for its ability to integrate environmental data from different sources and scales, apply them to risk prediction, and support decision-making aimed at the well-being of Pamplona and its citizens. With this recognition, the idea does not remain on paper: it takes the leap into reality and becomes a pilot to be tested in the city, generating learning opportunities and added value for future scaling.

In addition, Tesicnor also takes part in TwIN Lab, the digital twin innovation laboratory in Navarre, which provides training and experimentation spaces for SMEs and startups to transform their ideas into real, scalable solutions.

Beyond technology, this achievement reflects the teamwork and dedication of the people who made the proposal possible. Professionals from Tesicnor and the Instituto BIOMA combined knowledge, experience, and commitment to address a city challenge with an innovative and human-centered approach, convinced that digital transformation must always serve society.
