Training description

The GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) course provides updated training for professionals in the wind sector, focusing on safety and risk prevention. Through modules on working at heights, first aid, fire extinguishing, and manual handling, participants will learn how to identify risks, use PPE correctly, and respond effectively in emergencies. The practical part includes height exercises, rescues, first aid maneuvers, and fire-fighting techniques, all aimed at ensuring a safe and highly professional work environment.

Theoretical training

  • Application of primary inspection (ABC) and CPR.
  • First aid techniques for emergency situations.
  • Review and evaluation of training.

Fire Extinguishing (4 hours)

  • Introduction to legislation and emergency procedures.
  • Combustion, fire propagation, and fire gases.
  • Types of fires and suitable extinguishing equipment.
  • Preventive measures against fires and equipment in wind turbines.

Manual Load Handling (4 hours)

  • Safety instructions and basic handling principles.
  • Prevention of common musculoskeletal injuries in the sector.
  • Lifting and safe load handling techniques.
  • Risk assessment and manual handling principles.

Practical training

  • Inspection and proper use of PPE, height rescue techniques.
  • CPR simulation, application of first aid in emergency situations with real-life scenario training.
  • Practical use of fire extinguishing equipment, fire simulations, and evacuations in wind turbines.
